Great little pen flashlight! 5 stars! Sep 02, 2010
This is such a great compact pen light that is a terrific value. Very convenient and well designed as it only takes one hand to turn on / off. LED technology provides for efficient battery life. Will order more of these for other parts of the house. Very handy.
Fantastic multi-use light Sep 02, 2010
I'm a big fan of flashlights (what guy isn't?) and this one gets top marks for versatility. You can put it in the pen loop of most backpacks and bags, so it's always handy. I have a couple of these lights, one in each bag I carry regularly, and I use them often because they're right at hand. My high-dollar Surefire lights, on the other hand, are usually at home when I'm dressed for business.
Quality is top-notch. The barrel is metal and very durable. The switch can be used for either momentary light or click on/off. (It baffles me that many lights don't have proper switches that allow for momentary use.) It takes normal batteries, the LED will last forever... what's not to like?
Brightness is above-par given the size of the light. It's not a tactical light, but it's still plenty of light for most any utility work. Beam is even, no dark spots. Color temperature is on the cool side (typical for LEDs), I'd estimate 6,500K.
Overall, for an "always on you" light, this is the one. Leave your mini-mags in the car or toolbox. For a tactical light stick with the 6V lithium, 100+ lumen Surefires and similar.

for the price it cant be beat, I put blacktape at the end and hold it in my teeth. used it for everything from roadside repairs to pulling out my stitches. great battery life and light output. sturdy too. I saw a doctor using one at my checkup. they get around

I found the Steamlight 66118 Pen Flashlight to be about perfect. I purchased the light for work but it's been so handy at home that I haven't taken it yet. I would and will buy again very good product. 5 stars!

I love this flashlight! It is not too bright--I use it when I drop something in the movie theater, mostly--but still let's me see details when I use it (more like a blue-ish glow). Also, the button on the end of the handle let's you "flash" with it (morse code?) or click it to keep it on. I like the choice... Small enough to fit my in purse easily and comes with a belt case, too...
