Don't waste your money Jun 09, 2010 The switch has no protection for turning on without your knowing. The LED light is a joke. if you're wanting a good light with any distance don't use this product. It's a great reading light for up close or in a tent but horrible for hiking and or law enforcement purposes. Spend your money on a better LED flashlight.

maglite L.E.D.upgrade Mar 14, 2010 These Maglight L.E.D. upgrades are wonderful, they perfectly fit in the maglights, are easy to install, do not turn black ( like the original bulbs ) and significantly reduce battery consumption. They cannot be focused, however, they do offer enough light to perform the duties required of this size flashlight.

See the Light! Feb 05, 2010 Easy to install, great light, bright and white. The button switch is quite handy. This conversion is a great way to retain the value of the excellent MagLite light with the benefit of long battery life and excellent performance. True it is not a focused beam light, but if I need that a larger light better choice. The more flashlights you have the more likely you are to have one there when you need them.

Excellent conversion kit Dec 01, 2009 This is a great LED upgrade kit. Installation is fairly simple -- you need to disassemble the light housing in order to take out the original reflector and switch out the light bulb itself. The 3-LED light is wonderfully bright, much moreso than the original Maglite light. When screwing the housing back on, be sure not to go too far or it will turn off the bulb (of course, seeing as how that's the original way to turn it on/off). The tailcap switch is a welcome change to the old on/off method and makes single-handed operation easier. My only complaint is that the switch is very soft and is easy to turn on/off, which may present problems when the flashlight is packed or in the glove compartment -- it will be bad surprise to find the batteries drained in an emergency.

Satisfactory Nov 18, 2009 The lack of focusing for the light beam is a negative, but it is bright and the (presumably) extended life will be advantageous.
