great product Feb 28, 2010 This sharpener really works well. The course side really gets the edge quickly into shape and the fine side makes it really sharp. I also ordered the large Green (1200 grit) diamond 6" stone to put a razor sharp edge to my kitchen knives, but for most people this small double sided whetstone will make their knives sharp enough (cuts paper easily, but can't shave hair).
Made in the USA - you can't go wrong. Get it, you'll be happy you did.
handy Feb 21, 2010 packs small so its easy to keep it where you might need it. diamond sharpener works with water adding to its portability. cuts fast, be careful.
Sharpens quickly. Dec 02, 2009 I bought this as my wife had a diamond sharpener and her carving knifes are sharper than mine even though I used a whetstone and file. When it came from Amazon I sharpened my Beretta 2.5 inch, VG10 stainless, folding pocket knife,Trident model
in about 2 minutes. The small depressions in the sharpener, are there for the purpose of catching the metal dust and filings and keeping the surface clean so the
Diamonds in the surface can do their work. That was an excellent idea. The blade was so sharp, that drawing it across my forearm, the hair was cut clean to the surface. You won't go wrong with buying this sharpener.

Works great. Takes a bit of practice. Dec 01, 2009 The coarse side really gets blades back into form. I use this differently than most as I grip the handle with the sharpening part point down at an angle I want to sharpen and then brace the bottom part. Then I just go straight up and down with the knife. The fine side gets knives to a nice sharp point, but often I find the coarse is good enough for most purposes and leaves some 'bite' to the blade. If you need help keeping an angle, they make a magnetic angle guide. Just a really versatile sharpener. One complaint that is easily rectified...I kept forgetting which was coarse...blue or red. I just used a sharpie to mark it on the handle.
